(September 3, 2017) … I’m a fan of this line of Columbia Crest wines from Horse Heaven Hills in Washington – they range from good to great and this year was a real revelation at the time I bought it, showing how far Washington Cab has come. Now 10 years from vintage date and it still has great notes to please both the olfactories and the buds: namely cassis, blackberry, and spiced blueberry; it’s dry and still tannic on the palate but that fruit raises it up a notch and the finish goes for the throat with a pleasant combination of cinnamon and black cherry. Still a great bottle of wine.
