Then I looked into interesting regions like Maremma, Cortona, and other wines and combinations of grapes that caught my eye. Here&#8217;s a list of 31 wines of the 66 I tasted that truly stood out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>FOUR STAR and ABOVE<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-6432\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Altra_3.jpg\" alt=\"Nectar Dei\" style=\"margin-right: 7px; float: left;\" width=\"150\" height=\"277\" \/>Belguardo 2019 Maremma Toscana DOC &#8211; Tenuta Belguardo<\/em><\/span><br \/><em>(Cabernet Sauvignon \/ Cabernet Franc)<\/em><br \/>Really smooth and supple; pretty dark fruit core with good acidity, a touch of vanilla and smoke; tannins kick in at the end giving this wine a long, lingering and lovely finish. <strong>(**** &frac12;)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Nittardi 2019 Maremma Toscana DOC &#8211; Nectar Dei<\/em><\/span>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br \/><em>(Cabernet Sauvignon \/ Petit Verdot \/ Syrah)<\/em><br \/>The dark fruit broods while the vanilla added by the oak adds an extra layer of delight &#8211; quite pleasant, and all with good acid punch. <strong>(****+)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Tenuta Sette Ponti 2020 Toscana IGT &#8211; Crognolo<\/em><\/span>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br \/><em>(Sangiovese \/ Merlot)<\/em><br \/>Rich and juicy with plenty of dark fruit, mocha, and nice acid hit on the tongue &#8211; well-balanced with a long finish. <strong>(****+)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><em>Baldetti 2022 Vino Spumante di Qulita &#8211; Baldetti<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-6433\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Altra_4.jpg\" alt=\"Crognolo\" style=\"margin-left: 7px; float: right;\" width=\"150\" height=\"179\" \/><\/em><\/span><br \/><em>(Chardonnay \/ Grechetto)<\/em><br \/>Nice clean classic method sparkling; there&#8217;s a lovely balance and a pretty bouquet: biscuity with lemon zest tickle the tongue in all the right places. The wine is made using Chardonnay and Grechetto &#8211; turns out in sparkling it is a lovely combination. <strong>(****)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>La Braccesca 2019 Cortona DOC &#8211; Bramasole<\/em><\/span><br \/><em>(Syrah)<\/em><br \/>Smooth silky tannins, yet it has a brooding-dark fruit side that wheels in mocha, black pepper and spice on the finish. <strong>(****)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Nittardi 2020 Maremma Toscana DOC &#8211; Ad Astra<\/em><\/span><br \/><em>(Sangiovese \/ Cabernet Sauvignon \/ Merlot \/ Syrah)<\/em><br \/>Smooth across the tongue with notes of mocha and blackberry.
