It&#8217;s the interesting layers in this wine that makes it so interesting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-3604\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3_Zins_on_Rib_Night_3.jpg\" alt=\"Bogle\" width=\"112\" height=\"200\" style=\"margin-right: 7px; float: left;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3_Zins_on_Rib_Night_3.jpg 175w, https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3_Zins_on_Rib_Night_3-169x300.jpg 169w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 112px) 100vw, 112px\" \/>Bogle 2004 Phantom<\/em><\/span> is not a full-on Zin, instead it&#8217;s 54% Petite Sirah, 43% Old Vine Zinfandel and 3% Old Vine Mourvedre &#8211; it&#8217;s still a beautiful wine full of sweet red fruits with spice and plum on the finish. Not as layered as the Geyserville, it&#8217;s dealing on a more simplistic level, but also still very enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-3605\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3_Zins_on_Rib_Night_4.jpg\" alt=\"Wine Guerilla\" width=\"100\" height=\"270\" style=\"margin-left: 7px; float: right;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3_Zins_on_Rib_Night_4.jpg 145w, https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3_Zins_on_Rib_Night_4-111x300.jpg 111w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 100px) 100vw, 100px\" \/>Then came this odd-ball Zin from <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Wine Guerrilla (David Caffaro) 2008 Conte Vineyard Zinfandel<\/span><\/em> &#8211; I picked this one up on a whim years ago because I had never heard of it and it was Zinfandel (it was also in my price range) &#8230; Sweet raspberry, strawberry, vanilla, cherry and white pepper; I was super-surprised at how young it tasted at 8 years old.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(September 3, 2016) &#8230; Three Zins for BBQ ribs night, six years apart, and each with their own brand of interestness &#8211; but then again I&#8217;m a Zin-fan, so I can usually find&nbsp; something cool in the bottle as I learn about the age-ability of this grape.
