This year I popped the cork on a ten year old Malivoire wine as I typed, which in turn made me stop and take a few notes. I think what struck me about this wine was how fresh and lively it still tasted. Aromas were cran-cherry, white pepper, and earthy &#8211; about what I&#8217;d expect from a (much younger) Pinot Noir. Palate also proved to be deceptively young: dried and sour cherry, tart cranberry, red nibs on the finish and a pleasantly dry linger and an impressively smooth cross-over the tongue.
