{"id":2373,"date":"2015-07-27T00:29:51","date_gmt":"2015-07-27T00:29:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/index.php\/2015\/07\/27\/mcmanis-2008-syrah-california\/"},"modified":"2015-07-27T00:29:51","modified_gmt":"2015-07-27T00:29:51","slug":"mcmanis-2008-syrah-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/index.php\/2015\/07\/27\/mcmanis-2008-syrah-california\/","title":{"rendered":"McManis 2008 Syrah (California)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-2372\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.michaelpinkuswinereview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/McManis_2008Syrah.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"299\" \/>(March 28, 2015) &#8230;<\/strong> <\/em>I think it was tasting the current vintage of this wine that made me want to open this older version that has been languishing in my cellar &#8230; The nose proved to be a little smokey, a little peppery, but definitely with some red fruit and hints of dried raspberry around the edges; it was a pleasant nose that seemed to call out, &#8220;drink me, c&#8217;mon, I won&#8217;t bite&#8221;.&nbsp; Palate proved to also be quite approachable: a little white pepper, a good amount of spiciness, still with fairly firm tannins and fruit that lay on the freeze dried side of things of a strawberry-raspberry blend.
