(November 9, 2017) … it’s one of those special single vineyard wines that have become de rigueur, but back in 2010 seeing a single vineyard moniker on a bottle of Ontario wine was not prevalent: the nose is not one you’d think of as truly inviting with its dusty, smoky, pencil shavings, and cassis, but the palate seems to deliver more of what you’re looking for in a seven year old bottle of Franc: oak and smoky, with spicy, dried dark fruit, and a dusty cocoa finish.
