(October 8, 2017) … Here’s an 8 year old treat from Lailey … 7 or 8 years seems to be my limit for old Chardonnay and here we’re just at that edge. The nose is a beautiful display of toasted coconut, banana skin, and buttery notes – the palate is just as exciting with some hazelnut cream, dried apple, coconut, and peach soda … if you have any in the cellar I think it’s time to drink up while it still has that “pleasantness” about it … and as an aside, the acidity is still lovely and gives what might sound like something sweet balance.
