(April 7, 2016) … Brought this bottle with me on a trip to Michigan and opened it on the night we ordered up some Chicken Shack ribs (which are darn tasty ribs for a place that specializes in chicken) … The aromas were smoky-blackberry, cassis, and dried raspberry with a hint of woodiness hanging out in the background. On the palate that woodsy character came out as more cedary and smoky, along with some cassis, tobacco, and freeze dried strawberry … A good pairing.
