(December 29, 2015) … If I am not mistaken my buddy Dave recommended this Zin to me, he’s usually an Amador County man but this time he praised a Lodi version of Zin, so I took him up on trying a bottle once I got home (granted I got the bottle in Michigan, and I think k it was a gift from Dave). The “Boneshaker” is a pleasant bottle whose alcohol shows through a bit (I guess that’s the Bone-Shaking part, cause you can feel this one rattling around inside; but there is other stuff here to get excited about: spiced-plum, chocolate, black cherry, cassis, vanilla, and white pepper – as mentioned the alcohol does show through a little on the nose, but what really shakes you to the core is that spice, which really rings true on the palate and makes this one quite the enjoyable wine … right again Dave.
